Its another WIP Wednesday. I got a lot done the past two days! I am completely caught up on the BOM over at One Piece at a Time. Actually scratch that. Almost completely. I still have a applique block that is almost finished. A few of the leaves need to be stitched down still and there are red berries that go on the ends of the three flowers. I am still debating on the vase. I actually found some fabric I like better but I also had the idea of doing some decorative quilting on it when it came time to quilt. I might wait to see how it looks when I have all the blocks done. I am being really indecisive. The next applique block is getting released in a few days so I need to get this one done soon.
I also got another Dear Jane block done. This is block A-8. It was a super easy block. I did it by paper piecing and I think it only took me about 20 mins. Its actually a smidge too small. I think I trimmed the paper too much. It comes out at 4 7/8" or so instead of 5". But I will make it work when it comes time to put the sashing on it.
The next few days I plan on doing one more block but my main mission is to find a new rotary cutter. Mine gave out on me. It locks open to cut but now when I push down to make a cut it snaps shut. :( But its served me well. I have had it about 10 years and if I remember correctly it was my mom's before that. I was looking at Olfa Splash 45mm Rotary Cutter or an ergonomic one. I have bad hands and cutting a lot makes them hurt. If you have any recommendations please share. What I really want is an Accuquilt but its a bit out of my price range.
Today I am linking up to Freshly Pieced. Head over to see what everyone is working on!
I love the cardinal! They are my favorite bird and everytime I see one, I instantly think of my grandmother! Thanks for sharing!
